what it collects
Nothing personal. randumb makes up fake form data when you ask for it and writes it into the fields of that page. It never reads what was already in those fields, never sends form data anywhere and never looks at pages you did not use it on. It does not collect names, browsing history, page contents, form contents, keystrokes, mouse movements, screenshots or analytics events. There is no analytics kit in the extension and no telemetry address.
what stays on your device
The extension uses your browser's extension storage to remember:
- Your chosen locale, tone and any saved presets (named field setups you reuse).
- Your licence key, if you entered one.
- A small count of how many fills you did today, shown in the popup and never sent anywhere.
This stays on your machine. Uninstalling the extension deletes all of it.
what it sends, and where
- Our licence server, only when you have entered a licence key. The request carries the key and the word "randumb"; the answer says whether the key is valid, its plan and when it expires.
It contacts no other server, loads no remote scripts and carries no tracking pixel.
licence keys
A licence key is a short code like RD-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. When the extension checks it, our server receives the key and the time of the check. We use them only to confirm the plan and to count activations, so a shared key can be spotted. The address you call from appears only in the normal web server log, which is deleted after 14 days and is not joined to anything else.
payments
Purchases go through Paddle, the merchant of record, which collects card numbers and billing addresses itself; they never reach our servers. We receive the transaction id, the subscription id, the customer email and the plan bought.
permissions
Each permission the extension asks for serves one feature, and nothing is requested in advance.
children
The extension is made for developers and other adults at work. It is not meant for children under sixteen.
changes
When we change what randumb does on your device or which servers it talks to, the date at the top changes and the store listing gets a release note. The general privacy policy covers everything that is not specific to the extension.
